The Backwoods Windjammers performed at the Waterfront Park gazebo in Allyn, Washington today, 20-Jan-2007, at 0830 PST as part of a fund raising event for the South Sound Boys and Girls Club, North Mason branch. Many fine citizens volunteered to do the Polar Bear thing, jumping into Case Inlet. Nuts, eh? It was just about 32 degrees Fahrenheit as the early morning event got underway. There was a bit of crunch underfoot in the parking lot. To say the least, it was cold. The good news was that as the sun rose higher, without so much as a cloud in the sky, it warmed a bit.
A good time was had by all! ... With the possible exception of those polar bear types who went into the water. Here are a few photos of the event.
